Panic Buttons

panicbuttons

SpaceCadetz just came across a pretty dope small business on MySpace. Panic Buttons is in the business of providing high quality buttons at a low low price. The guys at Panic Buttons know what it’s like to be in a band and offer the buttons as a simple and cost-effective way to sell merchandise at an event. In fact the company founders started making buttons for their own band, but realized that there were countless others out there who could benefit from their services as well. The buttons are printed at actual print houses on the best equipment money can buy and are assembled by hand. Check out their website for prices and samples.

Gerard Chic

Posted in: Music, Art, Fashion

girardHere is a cat out of Paris, France who really is a one-man travel guide and culture expert on the area. I was first drawn to Gerard Chic’s MySpace profile for the great photographs on it.  Once I followed them to his website GerardChic.com, I found that he compiles the images into albums on a weekly basis, if not more. He’s been doing that for about a year now, so suffice to say there are TONS of pics to browse through. Gerard is also quite skilled in other areas as well, with a nice portfolio of collage art and short video clips.

Not content to just show off his artistic side, Girard creatd a nice ‘Shopping’ section where he lists over 50 of his favorite Paris shops complete with address, telephone, and website info. Add a music section with his personal picks and links to live streaming audio, and you have a truly comprehensive website.

The Dassler Rebellion

Posted in: Art, Fashion

customadiIf you’re a sneakerhead, then the name Dassler should be familiar. For those of you who are uninitiated, Adi Dassler is the genius creater behind Adidas shoes. Two Adidas fanatics, ‘Fluke Diggy’ and ‘Rival Life’ found themselves fed up with the custom Nike craze and decided to start their own rebellion in the form of customizing classic Adidas kicks like the Rod Lavers and Stan Smiths. The Dassler Rebellion can do some pretty insane custom work as you can see on their MySpace profile. Homegrown designs run about $180 and custom design requests are around $200-250. Not cheap by any means, but that’s the price you pay to have a pair of one-of-a-kind Adidas. Check out their fresh designs for yourself.

weeklydropFor those who don’t know, Weekly Drop is an ongoing podcast/audioshow run by Rob Heppler of SneakerGame.com and Jeff Carvalho of DropForm.com. On Weekly Drop the topics of discussion include everything from art, fashion, music, and whatever trends are hot at the moment. Past episodes have featured interviews with up-and-coming rapper Lupe Fiasco, marketing guru and publisher of Royal Magazine, Dave Gensler, and Bobby Hundreds of clothing company The Hundreds.

Brand new for this week is an interview with the man behind the Sneaker Pimps, Peter Fahey. Peter is the one managing the wildly popular exhibition of 1000+ super rare shoes as they makes the journey around the globe. Stay tuned to Weekly Drop, this show is quickly becoming the Oprah of the streetwear world. Ok, so that was an ugly analogy, but you get the idea. Basically you aren’t anyone unless you’ve been on Weekly Drop. Word.
