Everyone can use a bit of soul music to chill out to. If you happen to be in that kind of mood, try checking out Genius of Soul. The five member group is based in San Diego, where they are making a lot of noise in the local scene with their music that is a homage to classic soul with a funky/hip-hop new school twist. Expect to hear that chilled-out smoky lounge jazz sound combined with some slick lyricism. There’s nothing amateurish going on here, just the work of some true to form geniuses. Check it out.
