Who Killed the Electric Car?

Posted in: Misc, Video

electricHybrid technology cars are all the rage these days, but does anyone remember where the completely electric car went? It was here one day and then the next it all but vanished. Well if you’re wondering like I am, then fret no more because someone finally decided to look into it and publish the findings in the form of a movie. Who Killed the Electric Car? made its debut at the 2006 Sundance Film festival and is now making the rounds at screenings in select locations across the country. Here is a juicy blurb of the film’s synopsis from its MySpace profile:

The EV-1 threatened the status quo: the truth behind its murder closely resembling the climactic outcome of Agatha Christies Murder on the Orient Express. Twelve suspects, each taking their turn with the knife. Automakers, legislators, engineers, consumers and car enthusiasts from Los Angeles to Detroit work through the motives, alibis and fallout to piece the complex puzzle together. There were many enemies of the EV-1 and their motives were almost as strong as their alibis.

With gas over $3/gallon now I’m REALLY wondering where those electrics went!! Whodunit???
