“If Shaft met Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix….” That’s the quote self-described “melodic surf funk” band Qwiksand uses to describe their music. If that sounds interesting to you, then you won’t be disappointed by the tunes. Qwiksand was voted one of the best independent artists in the country by the Independent Artist Registry. With deep roots in surf culture, the name Qwiksand was used to honor those who drowned in an infamous wave called “The Wedge” in Newport Beach, CA. The band currently has an album out called “The Fellowship of the Groove” which features their hit single “Concrete Cowboy.”
