MySpace to Clean Up

Posted in: Announcements

Breaking news everyone.  According to this news article, MySpace has deleted 200,000 “objectionable” profiles in an effort to clam fears about the safety of teens on the site.  Many of the profiles either had “hate speech” or were “too risque.”  Overall, this is a good move for MySpace and its advertisers who were probably getting slighly iffy about the content.  The article also says that MySpace is at 66+ million members with 250,000 signing up daily.  Go MySpace!!

Qwiksand

Posted in: Music

qwiksand“If Shaft met Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix….” That’s the quote self-described “melodic surf funk” band Qwiksand uses to describe their music. If that sounds interesting to you, then you won’t be disappointed by the tunes. Qwiksand was voted one of the best independent artists in the country by the Independent Artist Registry. With deep roots in surf culture, the name Qwiksand was used to honor those who drowned in an infamous wave called “The Wedge” in Newport Beach, CA. The band currently has an album out called “The Fellowship of the Groove” which features their hit single “Concrete Cowboy.”

Video of the Day: Hamster Action

Posted in: Video

If you think you can scarf food, you haven’t met this cute little hamster. Watch it absolutly kill this round cracker that’s like 5x bigger than its head. It’s hilarious when the hamster rotates it feverishly like a madman. That Japanese hotdog eating champion had better watch out!!

No Pattern

Posted in: Guys, Art

Can you say ‘precocious’? Look it up in the dictionary and you should see the face of Chuck Anderson, an artist whose work is known as No Pattern. He started doing freelance work at the age of 18 right out of high school and hasn’t looked back since. Two years have passed since then, and Chuck has been on fire having worked for companies like Microsoft, Nike, Burton, Warner Brothers, ESPN, and more. He is a co-contributor at blog The Brilliance.com, and recently opened an online store where his work can be purchased. It’s super affordable ($30-$40) so I suggest you buy something now while it’s cheap!!
