Check out this NYC-based hip-hop duo called Crazy Low Budget.  The two minds behind this new group are Chuck Rhythm and Dusmite, who together produce some seriously good beats and raps.  Their debut album is scheduled to drop on March 16th, and you can get an advance review of it at British magazine Crossfire.  It’s 12 tracks deep with “no filler, no bullshit.”  These cats might be low on money, but their music is definately not low on quality.

Clothing label The Hundreds is a relatively new company based out of L.A. The brand is really a two-part effort with the clothing line acting in concert with their online magazine (blog). Their designs are super fresh and reflect both the skate/punk/suft scenes of the 80s and 90s as well as the current hip-hop/grafitti trends going on in the streetwear segment. All of their shirts and sweaters are limited in number and are only sold in select clothing boutiques. Anyway, The Hundreds was at the MAGIC Fashion Convention in Las Vegas this past week and they have been posting a ton of pics. Check out the action for yourself!

It appears that there’s a bit of controversy going on over at ?uestlove’s MySpace blog. ?uestlove’s blog entry #39 has generated over 164 comments and I’m sure hundreds of MySpace messages to ?uestlove. The subject? Apparently the Roots’ drummer has run into some really bad racism while he’s been in Italy, and he holds nothing back in describing what has happened and how he feels about it. It really sucks that this is happening to him, but the fact that he can vent his anger to his fans and the world through MySpace is great.

Eager to make their mark on the indie hip-hop scene, group Parallel Thought are ready to release their debut album which is a year and a half in the works. The group consists of Drum and Knowledge handling the production, their DJ who goes by RUFFneck, and the emcee Caness. Caness has been busy finishing up his mixtape called “Parallel Thought Presents: Caness & The Shit Spittin’ Factory,” and Drum and Knowledge have been working on tracks with other notable underground talent such as MF Doom, Illogic, and Jean Grae.
